What do we do?

We offer evidence-based suicide prevention training across Australia and New Zealand ~ all our trainers are highly experienced and very passionate about providing training that can help save lives.

SFA Suicide First Aid

Our one day training program gives you the skills and confidence to have a caring conversation with someone who is having thoughts of suicide and hopefully gives them a chance to get the help they need.  This training is not just for healthcare professional, anyone regardless of previous experience can learn these skills and help safe a life.

Why do we do this?

We are passionate about saving lives by creating communities where suicide is recognised and can be talked about openly.

We believe that each and every one of us can be a part of this, by each learning

  •  what signs to look and listen out for (how might we know someone is thinking of suicide?) and
  •  what to say and do that can help someone to stay safe. Essentially, how to have an open conversation about suicide that could save a life.

Over 2,000 deaths by suicide are reported in Australia each year. Our belief is that many of these could be prevented, because research tells us that most people who are thinking of suicide don’t actually want to die – they want their pain to end.

To reduce the number of suicides per year, we must work together so people who are thinking about suicide do not feel that they are alone and are able to access help when needed.

Who are we?

We are a growing network of passionate suicide prevention trainers in Australia, New Zealand and the UK with many years of experience

We are available to support even the most remote communities and we’re happy to travel.
